OUI Defense - April 2026

Your Rights During an OUI Traffic Stop

Being pulled over on suspicion of OUI is stressful. Knowing your rights before it happens can make a significant difference in the outcome.

You are required to provide your license and registration. You are not required to answer questions about whether you have been drinking or where you are coming from. You can politely decline field sobriety tests, though there are consequences.

If you are arrested, do not resist. The time to challenge the stop and the arrest is in court, with counsel.
